COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

CBT THERAPY

There is no definitive number of sessions a person would require – everyone is different. However, there would be an initial assessment session(s) which would determine whether the client would be suitable for therapy, identification of problems and the setting of goals. Thereafter, on average, the client could attend for six therapy sessions.

THERAPY COURSE

Each session is structured carefully. For example, the setting of an agenda, review of the previous session and any matters arising, review of previous homework tasks, the main agenda discussion, setting homework tasks and a review of the session.

Each session would normally last for 60 minutes.

CBT isn’t just about talking. The therapist would work with you to find ways to put some of the ideas into practice and encourage you to test things out for yourself, that is, behavioural experiments.

CLINIC AND HOME SESSIONS

The sessions can be within our clinic and/or at your own home.  This is entirely at your discretion and is to ensure the maximum level of comfortableness for you while in therapy.
